Did someone forget to tell Claudia again?

Americal Thinker

You may remember that all heck broke loose down in Mexico when “El Mencho,” the famous narco-terrorist, was killed.  Within minutes, his pals were blocking highways and burning buildings.  It was crazy, especially for tourists wondering whatever happened to Puerto Vallarta and for Mexican authorities planning for World Cup games in Guadalajara.  There were also questions about President Sheinbaum, who acted a bit confused when approached by the press.  Many Mexicans felt that she learned about the operation from news reports.

Well, let’s move to April and another incident in Mexico. This time, a couple of Americans were killed in a car crash. On the surface, that’s just another traffic story until you get more information. Here is the story:

‘We’re investigating what these people were doing and what agency they were from,’ the president said.

‘So far, the information we have is that they were working jointly [with Chihuahua authorities]. … So the whole investigation has to be done by the Federal Attorney General’s Office [FGR] to see if the constitution or the National Security Law was violated,’ Sheinbaum said.

Two Chihuahua security officials, including the director of the State Investigation Agency, were also killed when a vehicle in which they and the U.S. officials were traveling plunged into a ravine early Sunday.

On Monday, Sheinbaum said that her administration was asking the Chihuahua government and U.S. authorities for information about their security collaboration in the northern border state. She said her government was unaware of the collaboration.

Unaware of the situation  Well, I guess that no one in the state government of Chihuahua, on the U.S. border, told the federal government that CIA operatives were working there. The Chihuahua attorney general is splitting hairs, saying something like the CIA staff was just helping the Mexican agents clear out a lab. Advisors only

President Sheinbaum will apparently follow up, asking the U.S. why they had agents operating in Mexico. Really  I guess that there are two problems here: The state government decided not to tell the federal government to avoid leaks, or President Sheinbaum is playing games hiding behind the “sovereignty” curtain. The real answer is probably a bit of both.

So no one told Claudia again  That sounds like a great plot for one of those steamy “telenovelas” that they make down there.
