US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says a “pretty solid” proposal is on the table amid continuing efforts to reach an agreement with Iran, while insisting that President Donald Trump is “not going to make a bad deal”.
Trump has said he instructed his team not to rush into any agreement as Japan’s stock market surges to record high on hopes of an end to US-Israel war on Iran.
White House officials have taken a “cautious tone” while suggesting that a deal could take days to finalise, according to Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Washington, DC.
Israel has carried out more attacks on Lebanon, killing at least two people and wounding 10 others in the southern town of Arab Salim.
Eight Arab and Muslim countries have condemned far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for the abuse of Gaza flotilla activists.

LNG tankers clear Strait of Hormuz, bound for Pakistan and China: Report

Citing maritime tracking data, Reuters reports that a pair of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers is making its way out of the Strait of Hormuz, bound for Pakistan and China.
According to data pulled from Kpler and LSEG, the Bahamas-registered LNG carrier Fuwairit is transiting the strait and is scheduled to unload its shipment in Pakistan by Tuesday. The vessel originally took on its cargo at the Ras Laffan terminal in Qatar back in March.
A second LNG vessel, the Al Rayyan, has similarly cleared the strategic waterway, Reuters said.
After taking on a load at Ras Laffan and last appearing in the Gulf on May 22, it is now positioned outside the strait in the waters separating Oman and Iran, with an estimated arrival in China on June 27.

More from Rubio on potential Iran deal, Lebanon

“We’re either going to have a good agreement, or we’re going to have to deal with it another way. We’d prefer to have a good agreement,” he said.
Asked whether Lebanon will be part of any deal, the US secretary of state told reporters that Washington is “working on [Lebanon] separately”.
He said Israel and the Lebanese government are not the problem. “The problem is Hezbollah,” Rubio said, accusing the group of “victimising the people of Lebanon”.
Rubio added that “Israel always has a right to protect itself… And so, if Hezbollah is going to launch missiles, or launches missiles, at them, Israel has every right to respond to that or to prevent that from happening. That’s always been understood.”
