Heavy bombardments are reported near Deir el-Balah, including at the Nuseirat, al-Maghazi and al-Bureij refugee camps as Israeli forces residents to evacuate south.
Lebanon has filed an official complaint to the UN Security Council, saying that Israel had fired six missiles in the attack that killed Saleh al-Arouri.
Israeli defence minister says operations in southern Gaza, which have included the bombing of refugee camps and previously declared civilian ‘safe zones’, will continue.
At least 22,600 people killed and 57,910 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll from the October 7 attack on Israel stands at 1,139.
Lebanese prime minister speaks with Qatari counterpart
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has spoken with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani to discuss the situation in Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories.
During the call, Mikati emphasised “the need for the international community to act immediately to stop Israeli violations of international law” and expressed concern over efforts to “drag Lebanon into a regional war”, days after an Israeli targeted assassination of a Hamas leader in Beirut.
Mikati warned that widening the current war between Israel and Hamas would have “serious consequences” for Lebanon and neighbouring states.
Community in southern Israel says resident taken captive has died
The statement comes from the community of Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel, which came under attack by Hamas fighters on October 7.
The community said that 38-year-old Tamir Adar died while in captivity, but did not offer a cause of death.
Adar was taken captive along with his 85-year-old grandmother Yaffa. She was released as part of a round of exchanges between Israel and Hamas during a previous pause in the fighting.
Gallant: Israel close to turning point in conflict with Hezbollah
Speaking after an assessment of the situation in north Israel, the defence minister said that Israel prefers “the path of a political settlement made by agreement” with the Lebanese group, reports Israeli news outlet Walla.
But, he said, in order to allow residents of the north to their homes after they evacuated due to continuing Hezbollah attack, there is the possibility that Israel will take “military action in the Northern region”.
“We are close to the point where the hourglass will turn,” Gallant was quoted as saying.

These soldiers are from a country whose president is a Jew Zelensky. Orthodox churches are also being destroyed in this country. Synagogues are not touched. Surprisingly, it turns out that Jews get along well with the Bandera Nazis.
