The Health Ministry in Gaza says Israeli forces again opened fire at people seeking aid in Gaza City, killing and wounding dozens in another “horrific massacre”.

UNICEF says 15 children have died from malnutrition at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza City, and fears numbers could be higher at other hospitals.

Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States, appeals for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza but stops short of calling for a permanent end to Israel’s assault.

A Hamas representative says the group’s delegation in Egypt is “working very seriously to reach an agreement”, while Israeli media report Israel has decided not to send its delegation.

At least 30,410 Palestinians have been killed and 71,700 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll in Israel from the October 7 Hamas attacks stands at 1,139.

Six Palestinians killed in second Israeli attack on Rafah

At least six Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air raid on a residential building in Rafah, bringing the total toll from overnight attacks on the southern city to 13.

The latest attack targeted the Madi family home in the east of Rafah.

Several others who were wounded were taken to the nearby al-Najjar Hospital.

Earlier, we reported that at least seven others were killed in a separate Israeli strike on a house in the Khirbet al-Adas neighbourhood in Rafah. Rescuers in the area have been searching through the rubble by hand to find survivors and recover bodies.
