Dozens of Palestinians are killed in incessant Israeli attacks across Gaza, including 15 people at a sport centre where hundreds of war-displaced are sheltering.

News reports say the United States will send billions of dollars worth of bombs and warplanes to Israel despite growing criticism of its war on Gaza.

At least 32,623 Palestinians have been killed and 75,092 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s October 7 attack stands at 1,139 with dozens still held captive.

US, Israeli delegations may meet Monday to discuss planned Rafah invasion: Report

Israel has proposed to hold the talks in Washington DC on Monday, after canceling a meeting with US counterparts earlier this week, reports CNN, citing US officials.

The request comes as the US White House signs off on a $2.5bn arms package to Israel, consisting of over 2,000 bombs, even as it pushes back on Israel’s planned incursion of Rafah.

US officials told CNN that a date for the Rafah talks has not yet been finalised.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) fighters also reported an ambush on a squad of six Israeli special forces soldiers in the al-Qarara area of Khan Younis. PIJ claimed to have either killed or wounded all six of the special forces team.

The left-wing Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine also claimed to have targeted an Israeli personnel carrier in the al-Qarara area with an IED (improvised explosive device), the war monitors said.

It also affirmed that the “horrific humaitarian reality in the Gaza Strip, inluding the threat to the lives of civilians, requires the international community to firmly stand up to achieve a permanent ceasefire”.
