    Eleven people, including children, have been killed in an Israeli air attack on the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza as Israel continues its bombardment of the Palestinian territory.

    Seven people were reported killed, including four children, in an Israeli jet attack on a house in the Yabna refugee camp in Rafah.

    The United Nations, United States and Palestinian rights groups join growing condemnation of Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

    At least 33,843 Palestinians have been killed and 76,575 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s October 7 attacks stands at 1,139 and dozens of people are still being held captive in Gaza.

    Google employees arrested protesting company’s ties with Israeli government

    Employees of the tech giant have been arrested after holding sit-in protests in the company’s New York and Sunnyvale, California offices for more than nine hours.

    Earlier, we reported that the protesters said they would not leave until Google pulls out of a $1.2bn artificial intelligence and surveillance contract between Israel, Google and Amazon.

    Google employees have long spoken out against project “Nimbus”, with Palestinian employees describing “institutionalised bias” within the company.

    Israeli special forces soldier ‘seriously injured’ in northern Gaza fighting

    Israel’s military said a member of its Shaldag Unit was receiving medical treatment after suffering serious injuries during fighting in northern Gaza on Tuesday.

    The Israeli military did not give the age or rank of the soldier.

    The Shaldag Unit is described as being a specialised force dedicated to commando-type operations, including search and rescue in combat zones, hostage situations and deep reconnaissance and intelligence gathering in enemy territory.

    The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that as of Monday, 259 Israeli soldiers had been reported killed and 1,571 injured since Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza began.
