Israeli helicopter gunships, attack drones and warplanes strike Rafah as Palestinian fighters engage Israeli troops in running street battles.

President Joe Biden said he did not expect to see a Gaza ceasefire deal in the near future. Responding to reporters, who asked if a truce would be reached soon, Biden said no, adding, “I haven’t lost hope.”

At least 14 Palestinians were killed following Israeli air strikes on residential buildings in northern Gaza City.

Hezbollah launches a major drone and rocket attack targeting military bases in Israel’s north, and Israeli forces responded with a deadly bombing in southern Lebanon as fears grow the border clashes descend into all-out war.

At least 37,232 people killed and 85,037 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s attacks stands at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza.

Israeli military carries out arrests in Qalqilya, Qalandiya refugee camp

The Israeli military has stormed the occupied West Bank city of Qalqilya and made arrests.

Former prisoner Maher Daoud was arrested in the Jaidi neighbourhood, with local media reporting that Israeli forces are trying to get his brother to surrender himself. A number of men were also detained inside a taxi office in the same neighbourhood, and it is unclear if they have been taken into custody.

Another man was also arrested in the city’s Kafr Saba neighbourhood after Israeli forces stormed his home.

Elsewhere, Israeli forces have arrested a Palestinian man in the Qalandiya refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem.

US says it destroyed two Houthi patrol boats in the Red Sea

The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said that it destroyed several Houthi targets in Yemen and the Red Sea.

Posting on X, CENTCOM announced it had destroyed one air defence sensor in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen. US forces also destroyed one Houthi “uncrewed surface vessel” and two Houthi patrol boats in the Red Sea.

In a separate incident, CENTCOM also destroyed one uncrewed aerial system over the Red Sea.

The incidents come amid an apparent escalation in Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. CENTCOM accused the Houthis of “malign and reckless behaviour”, criticising them for “threatening the lives of third country nationals who have nothing to do with the conflict in Gaza”.
