Israeli tanks fire on Palestinians fleeing Eastern Khan Younis as the UN says Israel’s latest evacuation order forces Palestinians into just 20 percent of the land in the Gaza Strip.

The UN is sending teams to test Palestinians for polio after traces were found in water in Khan Younis, which Israel has now forced people to evacuate, and Deir el-Balah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington, DC, where he is to address the US Congress and meet with President Joe Biden as well as Presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

UN Chief Antonio Guterres welcomes the “national unity” government plan signed by Palestinian factions, including Hamas and Fatah, in China, his spokesperson said.

At least 39,090 people have been killed and 90,147 injured in Israel’s war on Gaza. The death toll in Israel from the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is estimated at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza.

ICJ ‘apartheid’ findings mean Israel should be banned from Olympics: advocate

Fadi Quran, campaign director at rights and advocacy group Avaaz, has said Israel should be barred from the Olympics because of recent findings from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that Israel is committing “apartheid and systematic discrimination”.

“The IOC has a policy prohibiting apartheid and systematic discrimination,” Quran said, which “the ICJ has confirmed that Israel is guilty of.”

Quran, who is also a Palestinian community organiser, said that ignoring a request from the Palestinian Olympic Committee to exclude Israel would “permanently stain the Paris Olympics and every member of the Olympic committee.”

The International Olympic Committee banned South Africa from participating in the Olympics from 1964 until 1992, due to its policies of racial segregation and apartheid.

Trump falsely claims VP Harris ‘refusing to meet’ Netanyahu

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has falsely claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris is “refusing to meet” with Benjamin Netanyahu during the Israeli prime minister’s visit to Washington, DC this week.

Harris, the likely Democratic presidential nominee after Joe Biden dropped out of the race, is scheduled to meet Netanyahu at the White House on Thursday.

Harris’s team has said she will not be attending Netanyahu’s controversial joint address to Congress today due to a previously scheduled campaign event in Indianapolis. It’s unclear if this is what Trump was referring to.

Trump, who made his comments during a telephone interview with Newsmax, also reiterated that no Jewish American should support the Democrats over their Israel stance.

“It’s amazing actually, that… any Jewish person or any person that believes in Israel and loves Israel can even think about voting for a Democrat,” he said.
