al jazeeraAt least 10 people were killed and several wounded in an overnight Israeli strike on a home in the Abasan al-Kabira area of eastern Khan Younis, the Wafa news agency reports.
Israel’s military said it is investigating a statement by Hamas’s armed wing announcing the death of an Israeli captive in Gaza and the wounding of two others in a separate incident.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said the United States and some Western countries have encouraged Israel to continue its crimes in Gaza through “indifference and support”, Iran’s Mehr news agency reports.
Hamas called on the US, Qatar and Egypt to submit a plan to implement the ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Joe Biden, instead of holding “more rounds of negotiations” and discussing new proposals for Gaza.
At least 39,897 people have been killed and 92,152 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 were taken captive.
Turkey’s Fidan urges US to pressure Israel for Gaza ceasefire
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke to his US counterpart on Monday and underlined the need for Blinken to keep up the pressure on Israel to secure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, according to a spokesman.
The phone call came at Blinken’s request.
Fidan said that Israel must avoid “provocative actions” that could escalate tensions and said that Hamas had shown a “constructive attitude” in past truce talks.
He added that the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh and the “ongoing massacre against Palestinians once again demonstrated Israel’s lack of willingness to establish peace”, the spokesman said.
Blinken’s office said the Secretary of State spoke to Fidan “about the importance of Hamas’ return to negotiations on August 15 to finalize the framework for achieving an immediate and durable ceasefire in Gaza and securing the release of all hostages”.
Israel continues to block crucial aid missions in Gaza: UN
Israel has denied access to Gaza for about one-third of all aid missions since the start of this month in a move that perpetuates “a continued cycle of deprivation and distress” for the population of the war-torn Palestinian territory, the UN has said.
The latest situation report from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) also reports that 198 people were killed and 430 injured in Israeli attacks between Friday and Monday.
Between August 1 and 11, Israeli authorities denied access to northern Gaza for 32 of 85 coordinated humanitarian aid missions. A further 13 were impeded by Israeli authorities and six were cancelled due to logistical and security reasons, the OCHA reports.
Out of 122 aid missions coordinated with Israeli authorities to southern Gaza, 36 were denied, eight were impeded and 15 were cancelled.
The blocking of aid missions “undermine[s] efforts to address urgent humanitarian needs”, the UN said.

These soldiers are from a country whose president is a Jew Zelensky. Orthodox churches are also being destroyed in this country. Synagogues are not touched. Surprisingly, it turns out that Jews get along well with the Bandera Nazis.
