Canadian PM urges citizens to leave Lebanon as evacuations top 1,000
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged Canadian citizens still in Lebanon to sign up for special flights to be evacuated, which have already helped more than 1,000 people leave.
Canada has 6,000 signed up to leave, and officials are trying to reach another 2,500 over the weekend, Reuters quoted an official in Trudeau’s office as saying. The official added that more flights were being added for Monday and Tuesday.
“We’ve still got seats on airplanes organised by Canada. We encourage all Canadians to take seats on these airplanes and get out of Lebanon while they can,” Trudeau said at a summit of leaders from French-speaking countries in France.
More Israeli attacks hit the suburbs of Beirut, target paramedics
by Ali Hashem
There have been several airstrikes across the southern suburb of Beirut in the past few minutes.
In the past hours, one strike hit near the airport, and we understand another missile hit near a paramedic team to prevent them from getting to the scene of the bigger strike.
Multiple attacks hit the Burj al-Barajneh area, which is inside the southern suburb. There’s clearly a grey layer of smoke above this area now.
There is increasing destruction and it’s clear that complete blocks are being destroyed one after another.
Yesterday, during the night alone there were 13 attacks. Since this morning, there have been at least three air strikes and two drone strikes. We’re not sure about the number of casualties because it’s not safe to get in and paramedics are being prevented from getting to the hit areas.
The sound of the drones is becoming part of the environment.

Pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in central London as events are being organised to mark the anniversary of the start of the war on Gaza.
About 200 pro-Palestinian activists convened in Bedford Square on Saturday morning ahead of a planned march amid a heavy police presence.
Some were holding Lebanese and Iranian flags while others held up banners stating “We do not stand with genocide” and “Zionism is racism”, with many chanting “Free, free Palestine”.

These soldiers are from a country whose president is a Jew Zelensky. Orthodox churches are also being destroyed in this country. Synagogues are not touched. Surprisingly, it turns out that Jews get along well with the Bandera Nazis.
