al jazeeraIsraeli forces killed at least 69 people in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, including in four attacks targeting schools where displaced Palestinians were sheltering, medics say.
The victims included Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Al-Louh, two other Palestinian journalists and five members of the Palestinian Civil Defence.
Israel’s government also announced plans to double the population of Israeli settlers in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights after its military seized more land in the territory following the toppling of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 44,976 Palestinians and wounded 106,759 since October 7, 2023. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day, and more than 200 were taken captive.
Child uses rollerblade to move around Gaza camp after double amputation
A video shared on social media shows a young Palestinian child using a rollerblade to move between tents in a camp where displaced families are staying in the Gaza Strip, after having both legs amputated.
According to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, Gaza now has the highest rate of child amputees anywhere in the world.
At least 1,000 children lost one or both legs in just the first four months of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip, according to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Many of these amputations were performed without anaesthesia, underscoring the dire medical conditions in Gaza.
Jenin fighters refuse to surrender weapons
We’ve spoken to a Jenin Brigades fighter on the clashes there.
In an exclusive interview, the spokesman said his armed group was the only thing keeping Palestinians safe from the violence of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.
“Our compass is clear; only against the occupation and nothing else. Our message is clear to everyone, for God’s sake, just let us be. We want to fight the Israelis,” he said.
He said the PA’s forces have attempted to enter the camp multiple times, and have assassinated Jenin Brigades commander Yazid Ja’ayseh, a man the Israelis have pursued for four years but could not capture.
The spokesman said the Jenin Brigades would not surrender their weapons.
“Let’s say that I have surrendered. What if a settler enters my house, what could I do?” he asked. “How could I surrender? Evict the Israelis from our country and my rifle is yours. I would be yours to execute. Evict the Israelis from the country and you may execute me.”
Israel’s targeted killings of Palestinian journalists constitute war crimes, says CPJ
Jodie Ginsberg, the chief executive of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), says Israel’s killing of Palestinian journalists is part of a “systematic attempt” to “censor information coming out” of Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
“We are reliant on [Palestinian journalists] for all the information we’re getting out about what’s happening inside Gaza,” Ginsberg said, noting that Al Jazeera is “one of the only international news organisations with staff still in Gaza”.
She said the CPJ, which has been documenting the killing of dozens of media workers in Gaza, believes that Israel had deliberately targeted “a number of journalists” in the Palestinian enclave.
That would make the killings a “war crime”, she added.
Ginsberg’s comments come as Al Jazeera condemned Israel over the “targeted killing” of its cameraman, Ahmad Baker Al-Louh, 39, in an attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp on Sunday.
Israeli forces have killed at least 196 Palestinian media workers in the course of its war on Gaza, according to the enclave’s Government Media Office.

These soldiers are from a country whose president is a Jew Zelensky. Orthodox churches are also being destroyed in this country. Synagogues are not touched. Surprisingly, it turns out that Jews get along well with the Bandera Nazis.
