An Israeli attack on a school shelter in central Gaza has killed at least 28 people and wounded many more, health officials say.

UNIFIL says Israeli troops have repeatedly opened fire on its positions in southern Lebanon, wounding two peacekeepers.

Israeli forces have killed four Palestinians in Khan Younis and three in the Jabalia refugee camp as a siege that forced the United Nations to shut down schools and hospitals in northern Gaza enters a sixth day.

In Gaza, at least 42,065 people have been killed and 97,886 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 2023. In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 people were taken captive.

Israeli military says it launches an ariel attack in Tulkarem

The Israeli military says it has attacked a “terror cell” in the city of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank.

Earlier, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli forces conducted raids in Tulkarem and destroyed infrastructure.

Wafa’s correspondent reported: “Heavily armoured bulldozers barged their way into the city from the western entrance and made their way to the Nur Shams refugee camp.”

Houthis claim to have attacked and hit two ships

The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, says that group conducted two operations today.

The first targeted an American oil tanker called the Olympic Spirit with 11 ballistics missiles and two drones, he said in a televised address.

He said the ship was “directly and severely hit”.

He said the second operation targeted and hit a ship, St John, in the Indian Ocean with a winged missile, according to Saree, but he did not specify where the ship was registered.

The Houthis say their attacks on commercial and military ships with potential Israeli links are “in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistances”, and in “retaliation to the American-British aggression” against the group.

There has been no comment yet on these claimed attacks from the US military’s Central Command.
